What time is it? it's time to reach down and grab your rocks at the 2nd annual rock and roll charity ride for st. jude children's hospital. on august 13th, we invite all our southern cruiser brother's and sister's to attend a wonderful day of riding, food and fun. what is a rock and roll run you may ask? it is similar to a poker faq run except at each stop there will be a table set up with a sack full of colored rocks. each colored rock has a point value associated with that color. the person with the most points at the end of the run wins. in case of a tie there will be a grab off. that's a rock and roll ride. the first stop on the route will be at the burger king on the corner of us19 and 110th ave. n. in pinellas park where we will begin ride registration. registration will begin at 10: 00 and is .00 per person. the first riders will be out of the parking lot at 10: 30 and the last riders will be out by 12: 30 pm. now, don't forget to reach down and grab the first of your rocks. from burger king, the route will take the riders along tampa bay's waterfront into the beautiful city of st. petersburg for the second stop, the pier. the pier has graciously allowed us the use of one of their covered pavilions with reserved parking around the back. now it's time to hit the beach! from the pier the route will take the riders to st. pete beach's mckenney park located on the inter-coastal waterway. from mckenney park the route will head north through treasure island, madeira beach, redington beach, north redington beach, redington shores into indian shores for our next stop, the pub. the pub is a large waterfront restaurant with an outside covered deck. the pub has given us the use of one of their high-tops under the covered patio as well as reserved parking. it's then time to get on the bikes and keep on rolling. the route continues north through indian rocks beach, bellaire shores, sand key and into clearwater beach. although there are no stops in clearwater beach, please feel free to take in the sites walking up and down the beach. we will ride through downtown clearwater then through the city of dunedin with its tree shaded streets. here we cruise north along the waterfront to dunedin's edgewater park for our second to last stop. once again, don't forget to grab your rock. time for some food you say, i agree. the last leg of the route will take the riders east to philippe park in safety harbor. after entering philippe park follow the signs to shelter 5 where the food is cooking.
